Emanuel Schröeter

Emanuel Schroeter started riding for pleasure as a child, then began competing at sixteen. After high school, he did a six-month internship at Gestüt Wäldershausen with head rider Lars Nieberg, an Olympic gold medalist and one of Germany’s most successful riders.

After his internship, he accepted an apprenticeship at Gestüt Prinzenberg, a barn that develops young horses up to the Grand Prix level and sponsors young riders. He worked with Dietmar Gugler, who was the German national trainer for the junior and young rider show jumping teams.

In 2004, Emanuel earned his diploma as a professional rider from the German school of riding. Afterwards, he worked with Horst Rimkus developing his skills with young horses and sale horses which led him to a position at a private sales barn.

In 2005 he came to the United States to ride and train with Gary Young at Cook Farms, Ltd. in Camden, South Carolina.

Returning to Germany in 2006, he again worked for a private sales barn and later took a prestigious position at the Holsteiner Verband, developing young horses and breaking young stallions, preparing them for Stallion Tests and Approvals.

In 2009, he began work with Joie Gatlin – Morley Abey Show Jumping in Canada and now in the United States.
